Melania Trump Zara Jacket “I really don’t care, do you?”
Melania Trump, the wife of the Donald Trump had a public persona of a woman that stands by her felon husband no matter what. She stood by him when he serially cheated on her, when his affair with Stormy Daniels was front page on all news media outlets, when she supported his presidency and his anti humane policies to separate immigrant children from their parents. She was often branded as someone who tows the line, a codependent first lady hooked on couture in exchange for silence, submission and stoicism. She was an anti-hero!
She was the one that wore the famous vomit green jacket with the logo of “I really don’t care, do you?” suggesting to us all, to grin and bear her husband’s sick policies, asking us if we cared too! The context and timing of the message when it came across was frankly disgusting, pathetic and nauseating.
Melania Trump’s persona was all the things that intelligent women choose not to be. Her persona was that of an empty headed, powerless, anti-feminist shell of a woman wearing a forced smile and Louboutins! She was THE example to avoid!
Her persona was one THE most unlikely to defend the right to self determination, the right to control our own body and the right to choose an abortion!
Yet, in her upcoming book “Melania”, the ex-first lady, Melania Trump writes:
“It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government. Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes. Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. And just like that, with this statement, at this time and age, about 35 days from the election, Melania Trump is NO LONGER the persona she was! She is her OWN person, her OWN voice, standing on her OWN ground, personally advocating for the fundamental right of all women to control their own body!
She stands with us women! SHE STANDS UNITED TO ALL WOMEN! She supports reproductive freedom and supports all women in expecting life saving abortion care.
Where did she find her lost voice? Did her tolerance passed its expiration date? Did her patience explode? Did she throw her caution and Louboutins to the wind? Did she just piss off the GOP, anti-abortion supporters of her husband? Did she just raise her body and voice against the Satanist supporters of women dying – masquerading as Christians? Did she????? Yes she did!!!!
